Weekend destinations in Bulgaria: The Eyes of God Cave
Wondering what to do next weekend? Here are a few ideas for you.
Prohodna cave or "The Eyes of God" is the longest cave passage in Bulgaria. The place is very mysterious and unique and it attracts thousands of tourists each year.
You can take a tour of the cave for about 10-15 min and take photos of the amazing "eyes" on the ceiling of the cave. If you are a fan of adrenalin you can also check the bungee jumping options from the highest arch of the cave.
If you want to explore even more interesting spots in the region you can continue your walk from the back of the cave and the tourist path to the Medieval rock church of Saint Marina. With its hanging bridges and unique location, you will not be disappointed.
Another interesting place to visit in the region is the Geopark Iskar - Panega.
Location of the cave:
Prohodna cave is located near Karlukovo and it's about 1h - 1.30h drive from Sofia. The main part of the road is a highway, so it's pleasant to drive. When you see a giant flower in the middle of a field you are almost there. There is a big free parking place just before the cave.
